H.E. Mr. Mohammad Farhad Azimi Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan met with H.E. Mr. Khayrullo Ibodzoda at Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Astana.
In the meeting with the presence of Mr. Khushhal Farahi the Second Secretary for the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Azimi welcomed H.E. Mr. Ibodzoda and congratulated him on his new mission to the Kazakhstan.
Mr. Azimi calling Republic of Tajikistan as brother and friend country, stated that the relations of the two countries deepens down to a long history. Meanwhile both countries share a strong bond on cultural, linguistic and religious aspects. The government of Afghanistan appreciates the government of Tajikistan for their sustainable cooperation on different sectors.
H.E. Ambassador of Afghanistan discussing the two country’s relations mentioned that Afghanistan is the top purchaser of the electricity from Tajikistan. Additionally, Tajikistan is placed among the countries with top priorities for Afghan government in the country’s foreign policy.
Mr. Azimi as well pointed out in order to further deepen collaboration in different sectors; Afghanistan will draft certain bilateral agreements to further strengthen cooperation in different fields between the two countries.
Afterwards Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan accepting the issues discussed by H.E. Mr. Azimi, appreciated him for the friendly hospitality. Meanwhile H.E. Mr. Ibodzoda discussed the mutual areas of interest between Afghanistan and Tajikistan in different sectors. Additionally, he pointed out the cooperation and assistance being provided by the Tajikistan in the border areas with Afghanistan, which are including but not limited to the protection and preservation of endangered species, humanitarian assistance and agricultural support. Discussing of which H.E. Mr. Ibodzoda stated that their respected government is willing to establish a center for preservation and protection of rare and endangered share species at the border area of the two countries. H.E. Mr. Ibodzoda discussed areas of mutual interest and deliberated on the ideas to further deepen collaboration in economic, agricultural, trade and humanitarian sectors.
Mr. Ibodzoda calling Afghanistan as a close ally and one of the top purchasers of Tajikistan’s electricity stated that in near future the government of Tajikistan would launch a new power station with the capacity of providing 200 megawatts electricity. Additionally he discussed his country’s willingness to work in different projects including the electricity route from Tajikistan to Pakistan through Afghanistan, Agricultural projects and rural development programs for the Afghan citizens residing in the border area with Tajikistan.
Mr. Azimi by appreciating the cooperation and assistance of the government of Tajikistan mainly in the areas of building schools, reconstruction and other humanitarian assistance reaffirmed to further strengthen cooperation in different fields between the two embassies in Astana, Kazakhstan.
At the end, H.E. Mr. Ibodzoda presented their cultural gift in sense of good faith for the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
