H.E. Mr. Mohammad Farhad Azimi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with the H.E. Dr. Tilo Klinner, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Kazakhstan at the respected Embassy of Germany.
Mr. Khushhal Farahi, second Secretary of the Embassy accompanied H.E. Ambassador of Afghanistan in the Meeting. Firstly, Dr. Tilo called on them to the Federal Republic of Germany’s Embassy.
H.E. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan expressed gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan from the cooperation of the Federal Republic of Germany in Afghanistan.
Mr. Azimi stated that the historical tie between the two countries can be traced back to 102 years, and called the Federal Republic of Germany one of the long-standing and well-known allies of the Afghan government. Mr. Azimi added that, despite the tensions between Afghanistan and Germany during the Taliban era, the Federal Republic of Germany once again in 2001 purposed to maintain back the relations between the two countries, stand down beside Afghanistan, and support the country in the process of development, good governance, security and prosperity. In the same vein, the Federal Republic of Germany held the first Bonn Conference on Afghanistan.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, recalling the German Government’s cooperation after the formation of the new government in 2004, namely deployment of thousands of troops in Afghanistan, the construction of more than 2000 schools, facilitation of social services, Supporting Afghan universities in the form of training programs, providing scholarships, providing shelter for Afghan refugees in Germany, funding hundreds of millions of Euros to implement infrastructure projects, Employment, women’s rights and the rule of law in Afghanistan, deeply appreciated His Excellency for their governments sustainable cooperation.
H.E. Mr. Azimi calling on the cooperation of the German federal government and the presence of leading diplomats to improve the relations between the two countries in Afghanistan, discussed Mr. Cornelius Zimmermann’s missions in Afghanistan. H.E. Mr. Azimi addressed him as one of the prominent German diplomats in Afghanistan. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan stated that Mr. Zimmermann has been able to provide valuable services to the country during his mission as General Consul of Germany Consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif as well as during his mission as the NATO Civil Representative to Afghanistan.
Subsequently, Dr. Tilo expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Azimi for their goodwill for establishing friendly relations between the two embassies in the Republic of Kazakhstan. H.E. Mr. Tilo stated that the Federal Republic of Germany considers Afghanistan to be its long-standing ally and that the government is willing to stay with Afghanistan for many years to come and to support this country.
Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany stated that the country has always been trying to help Afghanistan to achieve prosperity, security, good governance and social welfare. The German government is committed to providing sustained support to Afghanistan and is committed to supporting Afghans and the Government of Afghanistan under all circumstances.
Thus, the two sides presented gifts while emphasizing on strengthening and maintain relations between the two embassies here in Kazakhstan.
