H.E. Mr. Mohammad Farhad Azimi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, with Mr. Shegai Konstantin Gennadievich, advisor on investment projects of Social-entrepreneurial Corporation “Soltustik” Joint Stock Company at the Embassy of the Republic Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
At this meeting, Mr. Kaiyrbolat Sakhmetov, the President of Diplomatic Club accompanied Mr. Shegai. H.E. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan welcomed both of them to the Embassy of Afghanistan.
Speaking about their company, Mr. Shegai stated that our company is a state-owned company located in the northern province of Kazakhstan and operating in the business sector of Petro Pavlov district. It sells and markets the products of the province as like the private companies, since 35 – 38 percent of Kazakhstan’s agricultural production is being produced in this province. Soltustik is a corn production company such as wheat, barley, chickpea and other corns. Meanwhile the company has business experience with countries such as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Italy and other countries.
Discussing about the possibilities for importing Afghan products to Kazakhstan, he stated that if Afghanistan is willing to export its products to Kazakhstan, then we can agree on a bilateral trade agreement on exchange of goods with Afghanistan by providing our products in exchange of yours.
Subsequently, H.E. Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan pointed out that Afghanistan’s agricultural products are numerous in numbers such as dried and fresh fruits with globally accepted quality. Additionally, H.E. Azimi stated that Afghanistan has the capacity of exporting its goods to Kazakhstan, for that purpose we are looking forward for a bilateral cooperation with the government of Kazakhstan at the state level.
H.E. Mr. Azimi stated that the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is willing to buy high quality wheat from the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and companies owned by the Kazakh government. He added that the perquisite of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in this part of the trade with the Kazakh government is to buy wheat than flour.
H.E. Mr. Azimi, pointed to the issue raised by Mr. Shegai on exchange of goods between the two governments, stated that the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan would consider this. Meanwhile, if the central government of Afghanistan is willing work on this part, then we will be looking forward to work with your company by collaborating with Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Chamber of Commerce of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
At the end, H.E. Ambassador of Afghanistan expressing his gratitude and appreciation stated that if their company fulfills the conditions set out by the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan while being guaranteed by the government of Kazakhstan, then we are ready to work on an agreement to purchase wheat in an appropriate price.
