On 13 November 2020 at the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction, the 9th meeting of the Center Council has been conducted under the chairmanship of the Kazakh party.

The Minister for Emergency Situations of the Republic Kazakhstan Y. Ilyin, the Minister for Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic B. Azhikeev, as well as a representative of Afghanistan as a Center’ state-observer – Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Kazakhstan Azizullah Omar participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Council members have presented outputs of Center activity in 2020 and priority directions of activities for 2021, as well as information on implementation of Strategy of Center capacity building for 2019-2021.

The participants of the meeting were greatly interested in the priority areas of the Center for 2021, such as promoting the integration of early warning systems in case of earthquakes, introducing innovative information and communication technologies in disaster risk management and developing the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
