Charge D’affaires a.i. Mr. Omar Azizullah met on 14 October 2020 with Mr. Ammar Albreiki the Charge D’affaires a. i.  of the United Arab Emirates in Kazakhstan  and discussed possible bilateral and trilateral cooperation and the peace process.

Mr. Omar thanked the Emirates for all its political and economic support to Afghanistan, especially after 2001.  H.E. Dr. Ashraf Ghani the President of Afghanistan visited UAE 8 times since he took office.  Afghanistan value closer relation with UAE and recognize Emirates an important Market.

UAE is the only country from golf that cooperates with Afghanistan in security for maintaining regional security and human dignity. Afghanistan recently signed 6 agreements with UAE for promoting and development joint cooperation on education, mining, energy, cultural, sport.

Mr. Omar proposed two joint projects to  Mr. Albreiki:

– The first project is a cultural program (an exhibition of paintings),

– The second project  is co-organizing  Bozkash  with Kazakhstan National team.

Many issues related to cooperation between the two countries and their representative offices in Kazakhstan were discussed. An agreement was reached on further meetings and possible joint projects.

The UAE is a key strategic partner of Kazakhstan in the Middle East. From January to November 2019, the mutual trade turnover amounted to $ 500 million. The volume of direct investments from the UAE to Kazakhstan amounted to 2.1 billion dollars, while investments from Kazakhstan to the UAE reached one billion dollars. About 350 legal entities, branches and representative offices from the UAE successfully operate in Kazakhstan.

Both countries have a plan to implement joint investment projects worth 11 billion dollars.The largest bilateral construction investment project is the $1.2 billion Abu Dhabi Plaza multifunctional complex in the capital. Contacts are being developed with Mubadala (UAE state investment and development company), the National Corporation for Nuclear Energy and Dubai International Financial Centre.
