On 20 April 2021, charge d’affaires Mr. Aziz Omar took part in the videoconference of experts and the Council of National Coordinators of the Central Asian Regional Information Coordination Center for Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors (CARICC), which was moderated by Mr. Naweed Riaz, Head of UNODC Programme Office in Kazakhstan.
The event was opened by Major-General R.A. Miralizoda, Director of CARICC. In his speech, he underscored that the Centre remains a fully functioning organization, fulfilling its tasks and playing a critical role in supporting CARICC Member States and partners in effectively combating transnational organized drug-related crime.
In his speech U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. William H.Moser mentioned that, in total 15 million US dollar was donated since 2006 to this organization by U.S., total budget for this year is 1,200,000 US dollar.
Charge d’affaires Mr. Omar congratulated and thanked organizers for invitation. He also added that fighting with drug is not only one country’s challenge. He highlited that ligament governments can combat drugs butter in the region and world.
In this conference 26 countries + 20 organizations has been participated.
