18 February 2021, Chargé Aziz Omar participated in videoconference “The role of youth in countering radicalism, extremism and terrorism” which was held at “Hyatt Regency Tashkent”.
He thanked the organizers and highlighted the Afghanistan security forces and civilians scarifying for peace regionally and globally.
He also added that, despite the counter action measures taken by the international community, the level of global and regional terrorist threat remains high.
While progress has been made in implementing the youth, peace and security agenda, there is still a need to create an enabling environment for peace building and to ensure that young people can truly play leading role in peace and security.
During his speech, he also noted on other recommendations and pointed out that education and information is needed not only for young generation, but also for adults as well as children.
